Der Startschuss für das Highlight des Jahres ist gefallen. Ja, ja, das Lichterfest steht wieder einmal vor der Tür. Von Mittwoch, dem 31. Januar, bis Sonntag, dem 4. Februar 2024, können Sie im gesamten Zentrum von Gent atemberaubende beleuchtete Kunstwerke bewundern.
The festival starts each day at 7 pm and ends at midnight. On Sunday, the festival starts even an hour earlier. During the Light Festival, you have various navigation options. You can choose to follow the route via your smartphone. For those who prefer a paper version, you can pick one up at our reception desk.
The Light Festival will follow a completely different route this year than two years ago, allowing you to discover many new places in Ghent that you wouldn't normally visit. You will pass through the Botermarkt, the Vrijdagsmarkt, over the water to Dok Noord and Zuid. Then, you'll continue your journey towards Ham and end up at the Vlasmarkt and the Belfry.
The route is made completely car-free, and visitors can use bicycles or public transportation (tram or bus). With us, at Astoria Hotel, you can rent a bike or e-step to easily reach the Light Festival. We are also happy to provide you with information on how to reach the festival by public transportation, within walking distance from the hotel. The closest point from the hotel to the Light Festival is the Botermarkt, which is also the starting point of the route.
