Hotel facilities

Our food corner is located right across from the reception and is open 24/7. During the day there is a cozy and homely atmosphere, from 8 p.m. the liveliness gives way to an oasis of tranquility and you will mainly hear quiet classical piano music. 

You can come here at any time of the day, whether for a quick snack, one of our home-cooked meals or a local drink. It is a self-service concept where you can take whatever you feel like. We only ask that you honestly note the items taken on the forms provided and leave them at the reception desk.

There is also a water tap where you can take free mineral or sparkling water. Feel free to use the water bottle provided in each room, your own drinking bottle or purchase one of our own plastic or glass bottles in the Foodcorner.

In the morning you will be spoiled with a fresh and extensive breakfast buffet, with many homemade products.

Breakfast times:

• Monday - Friday: 7.00 > 9.30
• Saturday - Sunday: 8.15 > 10.30

If you only booked a night without breakfast, but you still wish to have our delicious breakfast, we ask you to notify us before 20h the day before. There is a supplement of €18/person. If you like to invite friends or family who are not staying here, this is also possible at a supplement of €25/person. 

Those with a gluten allergy can also come to us. Attention: make mention of this the day before, because this is not standard at breakfast!

Prefer breakfast from the comfort of your lovely comfortable bed? You can! For this we ask a surcharge of 15 euros on top of the price of breakfast.

Ask the reception for the possibilities! 

Our sauna is located in the modular unit in the garden. You can go there 24/7. If you would like to use the sauna, please note your session on the forms provided, and leave it at the reception desk. 

Prices?

A session lasts 1 hour and includes the use of bathrobe and towels. You can take a sauna package with bathrobe and towels per person. This package is located in the entrance hall of the sauna. If you wish to rent the sauna privately, you can do so between 11 am and 5 pm. For this it is best to stop by the reception in advance. From 18h it is offered to the public.

The sauna is suitable for a maximum of 6 persons. 

How does the sauna work? 

1. Activate the sauna 15 minutes before starting time
2. The ideal temperature is 51°C > 54°C
3. The sauna session should ideally last between 30 and 45 minutes
4. Use a towel to protect the bench
5. If you get too hot, briefly open the door and lower the temperature to 48°C
6. Drink plenty of water during the sauna session (available at the bar in the sauna) 
7. Let your body regenerate after the sauna until you stop sweating (usually 20-30 min) and only then take a shower

2 important facts: 

• During a 45-minute infrared session, your body detoxifies 7 times more than in a humid sauna and you burn up to 500 calories. 
• Everyone can use the cabin, even people with prosthetic or heart problems. Great benefit before or after exercise. Also suitable for children.
   

Whether you want to start your day in a sportive way or you need a relaxing work-out to end the day, our fitness room is open 24/7. This area is also accessible free of charge for our hotel guests. 

In the fitness area you will find a treadmill, a home trainer, a rowing machine, as well as a fitness bench and dumbbells. 

The room is equipped with air conditioning, towels, water and sports drinks. We only ask to note honestly the used drinks on the order list provided and to leave this form at the reception desk.

For €7.5/day you can rent a manual city bike at the Astoria Hotel and become a true citizen of Ghent. 

If you prefer electric bikes, ask for one of our e-bikes at €25/day.

Our bicycle parking area is located next to the garage boxes at the back of the hotel. It is a free and gated area where you can safely store your bike during your stay. Be sure to use your own lock, as all guests have access to our bike storage. 

You will find two charging stations specifically for e-bikes, so you can charge your e-bike :)

Bikes may not be taken into the room. If you want an individually locked space for your bike, we recommend renting a garage box.

They are pliable, so you can literally take them anywhere. 

How much do you pay for one of our electric scooters?

At the back of the parking lot there are 4 electric charging stations that we reserve for electric cars unless all other parking spaces are taken. You can easily activate the charging station by holding your usual badge in front of the luminous house. Once you hear a sound, the car will be charged. 

Color of the house has the following meaning: 

• white = no car is connected, ready to charge
• green = the wagon is loading
• blue = something went wrong, ask one of our staff for help
